A quiet walk

By the sea

What could be more invigorating?

To get some sea air, discover our 3 favourite walks.

The Croisette

Start the day on the right foot by strolling along the 3 km long boulevard de la Croisette, a mythical seafront boulevard lined with palm trees, hotels and luxury boutiques. Walkers and joggers enthusiastically stroll along the large pavement bordering the beach in search of fresh air. There is no difficulty, it is flat all the way, accessible to all!

Opt for the sunset version

The Croisette is also a very pleasant place to walk in the evening. Go there at sunset to watch the sky change and the lights of the boats gradually illuminate the bay.

Photo break not to be missed!

3 Cannes photographers reveal their secret to sublimate your photos on the Croisette:

  • The sunset, palm tree and palace combo looks great according to slpcannes
  • Find the luxury car for your background according to Gilles Traverso
  • For early risers, the best light and few people according to monsport06

Boulevard du Midi

In the midst of a complete metamorphosis, the 1.8 km long Boulevard du Midi-Louise Moreau is a must for walkers and joggers. Soon, a new 360° panoramic promenade, nearly 400 metres long, will link the Quai Saint-Pierre (old port) to the new Boccacabana development to the west of Cannes.

This new space offers a place to contemplate the bay of Cannes, the Lérins islands and the Estérel, with viewpoints running all the way to the lighthouse at the Laubeuf pier.

Pedestrian boulevard  :

Enjoy the pedestrian Boulevard du Midi with your family or friends every last Sunday of the month except in summer and during the Cannes Film Festival from 9am to 4pm. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself to a sporting challenge or simply to take a breath of sea air. Bikes, rollerblades, scooters, gyropods, pushchairs… are welcome.

Boccacabana

5 kilometres that have resolutely changed the face of the Boccasian seaside. A new playground and well-being area dedicated to walkers, families… and to the practice of sport in a friendly atmosphere.

A seaside promenade, decorated with green spaces, rest areas, playgrounds and sports areas for the whole family, and also lined with numerous sports activities on the beach side (beach volleyball, paddle, etc…), outdoor equipment, as well as a jogging track.

Family plan:

Possibility of parking on site, accessible with children, you can park at 2 steps.
A range of transport services adapted to your needs: regular shuttles that are very easy to access for people using line 1 and the Palm Express line.

Oxygenate yourself

On the heights of Cannes

The Croix des Gardes

To get some height, go to the Croix des Gardes.

The green lung of Cannes offers an oxygenated and colourful escape with a breathtaking view of the bay of Cannes, the Lérins Islands, the Estérel massif, the Tanneron and the Préalpes d’Azur after a 40-minute climb from the old port of Cannes!

Our tips :

  • Climb quietly while admiring the landscape and taking photos, accessible to the whole family, including pushchairs.
  • Take a walk in the park in February because in winter, when the mimosas are in bloom, the park takes on a unique bright yellow colour.
  • Maps of the park are available at each car park

The Croix des Gardes in figures:

  • 80 hectares of Mediterranean vegetation (cork oak, holm oak, eucalyptus, Aleppo pine, maritime pine, mimosa)
  • 20 km of paths
  • 1 health course (parallel bars, pull-ups, push-ups, beams)
  • 6 belvederes offering a 360 degree panorama
  • 1 cross at the top in polished steel, 12 metres high and 7.5 metres wide, created by the artist Jean-Yves Lechevallier, dominates the town

  • Beware for people allergic to mimosas, avoid walks between February and early April even if the panorama is exceptional according to slpcannes
  • From the top of the Croix des Gardes, exceptional view of the bay of Cannes according to Gilles Traverso
  • Ideal walks to enjoy sunrises and sunsets as well as days after the rain when the air is clear and the sky is still cloudy with sunny spells according to monsport06

The Suquet

To be immersed in the history of Cannes: climb to Le Suquet.

The Suquet, a historic district, the cradle of Cannes, where people like to stroll, walk and even run for the most experienced! But as a family, it is better to climb it quietly, taking your time and taking photo breaks!

You will discover a 360° panoramic view of the whole bay of Cannes, the old port, California and the Lérins islands. The square offers a sumptuous view at nightfall with the evening lighting.

Photo break not to be missed!
  • A view not to be missed, especially in the mornings at sunrise and sunset, as the lights are reflected on the sea with the port and the festival palace in the foreground according to slpcannes
  • Beautiful light at the end of the afternoon, at sunset, as the colours of the sky and the sea vary according to Gilles Traverso
  • For the most motivated, it is a good spot for sunrises. Otherwise, prefer the end of the afternoon (not too late either, otherwise the Suquet is in the shade :)) for a good light exposure on the city according to monsport06

The massif de la Californie

Belvedere Walk

To have the most beautiful view of the Lérins Islands.

A 2.7 km walk along the Siagne canal between Avenue Ziem and the Californie reservoir, this belvedere offers one of the most beautiful views of the Lérins islands and Pointe Croisette.

From the top of Avenue Ziem, the walk begins with a bit of gymnastics: a few apparatus to get you in shape. Then head for the sea, along the route de Vallauris. Then from Avenue Bellini, the circuit is flat with a lot of shady areas offered by the oaks, eucalyptus, agaves and mimosas. Almost at the end of the walk you will pass under the rails: those of the old Cannes funicular. At this point, you will have only a few minutes left to reach the belvedere and finish with a dazzling view of the tip of Palm Beach and the Lérins Islands.

  • Take the first boat, there are fewer people, and the morning light and the calmness of the water bring out the paradisiacal side and the clarity of the sea according to Gilles Traverso
  • Choose a sunny day, take a little height if possible or go on or in the water according to monsport06

Walk in the heart of Saint-Honorat Island

Just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of Cannes, Saint-Honorat Island awaits you for an extraordinary experience. Calm and beauty, nature and spirituality, this jewel in the bay of Cannes lives to the peaceful rhythm of the Cistercian community, renowned since the Middle Ages. Walk in the heart of the lower Siagne valley

The lower Siagne valley offers a piece of nature and countryside in the middle of the urban area. Ideal for a walk, a picnic, a shady nap in the grass, a game of football, a walk with Mother Nature…
